USPs of the Sonet

• The Kia Sonet features a contemporary and stylish design. It’s got unique proportions, having a nice blend of curves and muscle. It stands out in terms of aesthetics and is visually appealing.
• The feature-packed interior has been the biggest plus of the Sonet since its introduction. The range-topping X-Line variant offers features that aren’t available in some of the cars that are a segment above it.
• With the most diverse engine options in India, Kia can cater to different customer preferences with the Sonet.
• In terms of safety, Kia has equipped the Sonet with six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, hill-start assist, ISOFIX, TPMS, seatbelts for all passengers, and ADAS.
• Despite its compact size, the Sonet offers a very spacious cabin. It is easy to drive and offers a frugal powertrain option as well.

Negatives:

With its firm suspension setup, the ride quality of the Kia Sonet could be improved. This setup results in a comparatively less comfortable ride, particularly for passengers in the rear seats.

• Even from the entry-level variant, the Kia Sonet offers many safety hardware as standard across the range. This includes ABS with EBD, brake assist along with ESC, hill assist, traction control, six airbags, ISOFIX child anchor, speed sensing door lock, rear parking sensors, and TPMS.
• Do note that this car has not been crash-tested yet, so we do not have the crash test scores.

• Like the Seltos, which is its elder sibling, the Sonet also gets an integrated infotainment system, while the quality of material used all around the cabin is good.
• We like the not-so-meaty flat-bottom steering in the GT line behind which now sits a fully digital screen.
• The touchscreen is as smooth and intuitive as ever, and the infotainment system is bundled with plenty of feel-good features.
• With its scooped roof, there’s an ample amount of headroom, while the legroom is just about adequate.
• Not only is the Sonet’s cabin a nice place to be in, but it is also one of the most feature-loaded in the segment.

Negatives:

• The rear seats have good back support on offer, but the seat base could have done with some extra under-thigh support to make it feel more comfortable.
• You can’t comfortably accommodate three passengers in the second row, owing to the tight shoulder room.
