Mahindra XUV300

Five USPs of the Seltos:

• The Mahindra XUV300 is one of the few cars in India that has scored a full five stars in the NCAP safety rating.
• Even the diesel engine option in the XUV300 is one of the most frugal and practical ones in the segment. It also gets an EV version, which goes by the name XUV400.
• The last update introduced the new-age connected car tech with the XUV300 where you can control many car functions via a smartphone application.
• The diesel engine has a torque figure of 300Nm, which is more than what you get in cars one segment above it – the Seltos/Creta diesel version has 250Nm. Even the petrol engine’s torque figure is the best in segment.
• The XUV300 is the only one in the segment to offer two-zone climate control.

Two Features missing in the XUV300:

• There’s no wireless charger or smartphone integration
• Its competition, like the Venue, now offers advanced driver’s assist hardware

• The XUV300 is one of the few cars to come with a five-star NCAP safety rating up its sleeves.
• It also offers six airbags in the range-topping trim along with front parking sensors, while all four disc brakes, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX, seat-belt reminder for co-driver, rear defogger, speed sensing door lock, front seat belts with pre-tensioner and load-limiter, impact sensing door unlock, panic braking signal, immobiliser, and passenger airbag deactivation switch come as standard.

• The Mahindra XUV300 has carried over the black-beige cabin theme since its introduction.
• The quality of materials used all around has remained good and appears to have aged well.
• There are no complaints when it comes to space in the front row either.
• Not only are the seats large and comfortable, but the visibility all around is also excellent.
• Combine it with well-thought-out ergonomics and a practical cabin and the XUV300 feels like a big car on the inside.

Negatives:

• However, despite being based on a bigger car with the longest wheelbase, the rear legroom of the XUV300 is not as good as some of its competitors.
• Moreover, the monochromatic AC control and the old-school instrument cluster have started to look dated now.
• Since its arrival in 2019, the XUV300 has soldiered on without any major changes. However, compared to its competitors, it surely needs a generation change.
