Kia Carens has achieved a remarkable milestone by crossing 1,00,000 unit sales in the country since its debut in February 2022.

The Carens is now available at a higher price tag, with an increment of up to Rs. 15,000. While prices for the entry-level variants and certain other versions remain unchanged, specific trims like the Prestige and Prestige Plus have seen a hike of Rs. 10,000. Additionally, the Prestige Plus 1.5 turbo-petrol DCT 7S version will now cost Rs. 10,200 more. All other versions will see a uniform price increase of Rs. 15,000.

Kia has launched the Carens X Line in India, starting at Rs. 18.95 lakh. It's offered in two trims: 1.5 petrol 7DCT at Rs. 18.95 lakh and 1.5 diesel 6AT at Rs. 19.55 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The Carens X Line features an exclusive Matte Graphite paint option and comes with a unique Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE) unit, offering access to various entertainment and news apps, which can be controlled via a remote control on the smartphone app.

Exterior:
The Kia Carens measures 4,540mm in length and has 2,780mm of wheelbase, which is longer than that of the Seltos by 170mm. It gets LED daytime running lights, LED headlamps, LED rear lights and LED fog lamps. In addition, Kia offers six airbags along with nine other features as standard across the variants. With the new X Line variant, the Carens gets a new Matte Graphite paint scheme.
Interior:
The interior has a dual-tone theme, and depending on the variant, it comes with black and beige or Triton Navy and beige interior. Apart from that, the cabin features front-seat ventilation, multi-function steering, digital driver’s display, 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, eight-speaker Bose sound system, 64-colours ambient lighting, wireless charger, and electronically foldable middle-row seats for easier third-row access.

Under the hood, the Carens is available with 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol, and a 1.5-litre diesel mill. The new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine replaces the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol one. This new engine is mated to an iMT and a seven-speed DCT unit. On the other hand, the diesel engine now gets the iMT unit, which replaces the manual gearbox. Here, the six-speed torque converter transmission has been retained.
